LOUIS LOUIS, OH NO
Since MJ has taken over the reigns at Louis Vuitton the house has had a seductive take on eras of the past. This season is no different. A feeling for late twenties to thirties is pretty dominant here with spliced powerful forty tributes. Again Jacob’s eye for detail goes a long way. The pieces that have an ombre sparkle effect (seen on half of the coat above) are really breathtaking. The florals are dainty which make them balance with the heavy velour and knits. Each look could be used in a Paul Thomas Anderson movie. That’s how immediate the return of the aesthetics is. I’m not a fan of the zombie flapper look, I get it and appreciate it, but it looks terribly silly on baby faced Wixson. This gator suit stands out to me in a good way. Overall this collection is true to Marc’s ways and consistently reverent to the house. He’s done it again.
